Apathy and Other Small Victories

I'm currently reading Paul Neilan's Apathy and Other Small Victories. It's no surprise I feel apathetic about it, given the title. It is written from the perspective of Shane, who has a very "I should have said/done this" view of his mediocre world. He steals salt shakers for amusement. He had sex with his landlord's wife in exchange for subsidized rent. I don't care about this man at all, and if I wasn't over 100 pages in, I would give up. Hopefully, this book starts to make me care a bit more. Otherwise, I'm going to be very annoyed.

Next on my list will either be Foop! or World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War. I'm thinking the latter.

On July 20th, I will be 27 years old. I plan on making this blog a daily blog starting that day, with a picture every day to document my 27th year. We also get internet at the new place that day. Not that anyone cares. My friend Cari has a 365 photo blog and I think it's a fantastic idea. Also, on one of my favorite blogs, kat knits, she has a handmade 365 challenge, where she attempts to do one crafty thing every day. Maybe I will attempt that too.

And now for today's thought: "Celebrate we will, because life is short but sweet for certain." --DMB
